EcoStudents And Aloiau Architecture Design Three Story Building

High Desert Montessori's first LEED Certification project is the renovation of an empty three story building.

This spring HDMS' EcoStudents worked with Aloiau Architecture to envision a sustainable design for the LEED Certification of the schools' empty three story building. The visioning process resulted in a rendering that includes a green roof, an open floor plan, studio classroom spaces, recycled and reclaimed materials and a number of other sustainable features that will improve student performance, increase teacher retention, protect and preserve the environment and reduce school operating costs.

The next step in the process will be to determine the building's structural conditions, take concrete core and soil samples, and create a set of as-built drawings.
